I had read this version of the Wee Care case quite a while ago, and it still gives me the shudders. I have the link permanently bookmarked, to show others that the nightmare of being mistakenly accused of child sex abuse when NO such abuse ever occurred really CAN happen to totally innocent people.
Chapters Two and Eight of Edward Humes' excellent and gut-wrenching book MEAN JUSTICE details many such horror stories. MSNBC did a documentary of three of the wrongfully convicted in Bakersfield, CA, which was called "Secrets and Lies."
