Hi, Been a bit too busy to respond to the comments, but Thanks Ross, and Jerritt. So far so good.
As for your question, anny, It's a dental malpractice case in which I represent the plaintiff and sorry to say no-one's paying the tab--that is to say, I've got no real fee arrangement at all.
What happened was that the mother of a friend of mine called me for some help and advice. After I looked into her situation, I decided she'd been horribly wronged (It's that old PD thing--I only do cases I believe in) by her aging and incompetent dentist. I sent her to a lawyer (who is getting paid) with instructions to get her appropriate compensation for her injuries (she had to have every crown and bridge in her mouth re-done...it was horrible) and the understanding that if it didn't settle, I'd step in and try the case.
It didn't settle. So, being a man of my word, I've stepped in and now am on trial.
Hopefully we'll get from the jury what she deserves and all will end well. I'll keep you all posted.

Good luck and give 'em hell
Good luck. Have fun. Civil... just doesn't seem right.
What kind of case is this? Who do you represent? Who's paying the tab?
