Blonde Justice Reviews Indefensible...

It's always great to be reviewed by people you read. And I, like many others read Blonde Justice.

She's a snappy blogger with a fondness for pink, an encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture, and a genuine dedication to indigent clients. Who wouldn't read her? So it's with particular pleasure that I get to link to her review of my book. Obviously, I'm pleased that she liked it, but the things that delighted me most about her review were: 1. her feeling that it was a great read even for people who do our work everyday, and 2. that it managed to effectively explain why we PD's do the work. That, as much as anything else was what I set out to do. Basically, one of my goals was to write a book that would finally allow all of us to escape the endless cocktail party questions about "how can you defend those people?" by saying--"you know what--just go read Indefensible and you'll understand.

So thanks Blonde.
And yeah--get one for your mom!

It was my pleasure.

So, any plans for a 2nd book yet?

Actually, there are a couple I'd like to write, but I think I'm going to concentrate on another medium in the near term...so we'll see.

a new medium, huh?

Does that mean we'll be seeing Indefensible: The Movie anytime soon?

When will your book come out bound on softcover? I would love to give my brother a copy, he is in prison and they do not allow hardcover books. Thanks.

Hi,
Generally it takes a while for a book to come out in paper. My best guess is somewhere around 18 months. But believe me I understand the problem.

There is a way to deal with it. I've actually been collecting galley proofs (i've been buying them myself on E-bay). They're soft cover and can be sent to correctional facilities. I've been collecting them because I have a number of incarcerated clients who want the book.

Anyway, they occasionally pop up as "Advance Reader's Copies" or Galley's on E-bay or Abe.com

Good luck with it. And if you're bidding drop me a line so I can be sure not to bid against you.

Thank you for the tip. I have been searching for galley proofs and "advance reader's copies" but I've had no luck thus far. Could you post on your blog or drop me a line if you find one on the web that you may not need? I know this means you would be lending a hand to the competition.

My brother would really enjoy this book, he aspires to become a criminal defense lawyer when his sentence is complete.
