Apropos of my earlier post about Judge Ralph Fabrizio's awful decision this afternoon, comes this great review of what sounds like an amazing book.
As the Seattle Times describes it:
If any big-city police chief has written a book more critical of cops than Norm Stamper, that volume has escaped my attention. Stamper criticizes beat cops, elite cops and chiefs including himself, including his years in Seattle. 'Breaking Rank' is an apt title given the text, but is actually too mild to describe the contents. It seems quite likely that among law-enforcement officers across the nation, Stamper will soon be referred to as Judas."

Dude... hope you appreciate them when they come to help you out when one of your clients is beating the shit out of you and stealing your wallet. Funny thing is, they will... because the vast majority are honest, hard-working heroes. Unlike the self-indulgent, pot smoking leftist scum who continually whine about the cops when it's their clients who are really bringing society down.
So just because most of them are honest, we can't criticise the bad ones?
That makes perfect sense.
I doubt that the vast majority of cops are actually heroes. We've kinda dumbed that word down in our society. Firemen risk their asses alot more than cops. Mainly cops cover their asses.
If they do it's because of crap like what this blogger gets to put them through in court. You know, not "is the defendant guilty" but "what did the cops do wrong" and who the hell is supposed to be on trial anyway.
No, cops are heroes, and if you don't believe it, go on a ride along in any large jurisdiction. You'll see the 99% good that's out there, not the 1% this addled defense attorney obsesses over.
Would you get on a plane if it had a 99 percent chance of landing?
one percent would be dozens going down every day.
The commentator who said “ If they do it's because of crap like what this blogger gets to put them through in court.” Obviously is not a lawyer. This is a problem.
America is being ruined by the presence of non-lawyers every day. Look at the way they talk. They talk about cases without reading them (which I think is worse than terrorism) and then they accuse people of doing things without citing to any specific things this blogger did. Either cite specific legal arguments he made (and how the courts reacted) or stop talking. America does not have time for your rants unless you cite. This is a basic part of being a true American.
Anyway, there is nothing wrong with calling your political allies “heros.” (Even if they are the kind of scum that can’t be bothered to go to law school.) I do it all the time and the lay people eat it up. They will believe anything, because, lets face it, if they were capable of critical thought (and respected themeslves) they would have become lawyers.
