Pathetic...

Froth, fear, and fury. That's the huge headline in Boston today after some blinking lights in the form of a cartoon network character paralyzed much of Boston, shutting down roadways, subways (with the help of a coast guard cutter) the Charles river. C'mon people. A little less hysteria and a little more common sense huh?

People are stupid sometimes, what can you do.

true, it was blown way out of control, but the two men should have known it would. People are stupid when it comes to things like someone planting bombs all over their city. They never think that a real threat would be trying to do it in secret instead of in front of everyone.
It was all pretty stupid, but hey, the final result was obtained. Plenty of news coverage and publicity.

Actually, why should have the two guys known it would cause Boston to freak out?
Similar devices were planted all over Seattle and surrounding areas, and nobody cared. Seriously, the same Aqua Teen Hunger Force stunt was pulled here, and the article in the Seattle P.I. was basically "Boston Freaks out, Seattle remains indifferent." Anyway, there's no reason 27 and 28 year olds would think that a city would freak out over lite-brights.

Though this was some commericial effort, there are plenty of non-sanctioned guerrilla light babies going up all over other cities. Even here in Idaho -- where people freak out about alot -- they just looked up in wonder at the lighted up headphones on the statute outside City Hall. Society is on perpetual freak-out mode, we shouldn't accommodate it.
