Bad Little Prosecutor

Alas, more stories of scummy prosecutors and their evil deeds. How about this Washington County prosecutor suspended for stealing a defense attorney's notes It's true!

Suspended Prosecutor

Washington County Prosecutor Cynthia L. Winkler was suspended from practicing law for 120 days over a dispute that began when a chief deputy prosecutor tore a page of notes from a defense attorney's pad during a court hearing. According to the charges filed with the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission, Winkler and Chief Deputy Blaine Goode admitted Goode had taken the page of notes during a February 2003 trial without the defense attorney's knowledge, purportedly to secure a writing sample from the defendant. Goode got a 60-day suspension.

The pair failed to reveal they had the paper when the defense team was searching for it. The defense lawyer later spotted it under Winkler's file folder. Winkler and Goode said in court papers they wanted to compare the man's writing with that on a recipe for methamphetamine that was being used as evidence in his drug case.

The Goode News...the two will return to the prosecutors office after their suspensions.

Here's the decision:

Would you not agree that the antics of Ronnie Earl, Travis County Texas prosecutor in indicting a political enemy are extremely abusive, and also smack of rank incompetence?

He wouldn't, because you see, the Republicans, or more broadly the conservatives are utterly evil in his world view, and therefore no means to bring them down is problematic, even if it means this hero of a defense lawyer winking and nodding at a cronyistic, narcissistic, incompetent prosecutor engaged in a political vendetta. Hell, the guy couldn't even get the first indictment right.

I think we should disbarr these two, Ronnie Earle, and whoever is going after Rush Limbaugh. They system is so messed up that pretty much every prosecutor is morally compromised in my opinion. If they don't agree with it, they should take a job laying bricks or telemarketing.

Yeah, let's hear Feige stand up for the rights of the accused like Scooter Libbey and Tom Delay. Hell, they were charged by those evil prosecutors. They MUST be innocent!

Please tell me how a criminal in his own right can prosecute others? Why are they STILL practicing law? If they cannot be trusted not to "STEAL" then how do we know what other crimes they have committed we just haven't been made aware of? How many innocent people are being prosecuted and wrongly accused by Mr. Goode? Why can't the new Prosecutor, Dustin Houtchin get rid of the rubbish before his own career is destroyed? Goode is bad and needs to be GONE. Scared to speak out in Indiana County...
